Anime & Video game influence in the story of this episode inspired my choice of color, from the 80s and 90s anime TV show BGs. Also creating a full background with different shades of green creates complimentary contrast for Garnet, who is mainly in red & pink. There are video game references as well, such as far away mountains from super Mario brothers and vintage game space design in Ring-o's world. To integrate Video game like BG in final BG, I treated all far away elements flat as possible without compromising staging by keeping volumes in mid-foreground.
